The event took place at Four Seasons Resort, Jumeirah Beach Dubai. It covered a number of interesting topics like dealing with competition, managing through tough times, filling the senior talent gap, funding for later stage growth.
Many entrepreneurs, investors and VCs turned up to the event.
Key points that were mentioned by various speakers that may also help your own business/start up were:
- you do not have to come up with a completely new idea, try to do something faster and more efficiently
- be inspired of what is happening in the global market but focus on local customers and local customer needs
- Read the competition through your customers – get feedback
- Focus on running efficiently business in one country before moving to the next
- If you are a start up, do everything you can on your own resources before hiring someone new (to save costs)
- find capital with the least amount of work
- its always a matter of trust between the founder and the investor
- disclosure of data always come into the way – be open and share information even bad one
There were also one-to-one sessions where mentors met with entrepreneurs to discuss their plans and give them insights.
A lot of Greek presence as well (speaker and companies – good job guys).
